ABOUT
ABOUT US

The Western Albemarle High School Robotics Club was founded in 2011. WAHS Robotics is more than a group of competitive teams, we are a family of students that have a passion for Science Technology Engineering and Math.

Our robotics club is comprised of three teams: Cable Management, Her Majesty's Engineers, and Loose Screws. We compete in the First Tech Challenge. It's an awesome opportunity to share our work, learn from others and have lots of fun.

We participate in outreach programs to help make STEM more accessible to all kids in our community and to deepen our own learning.

ROBOTICS COMPETITION

FIRST is an international non-profit organization that promotes STEM education through competitive robotics.

FIRST programs include Jr. FIRST LEGO League for students in grades K-3, FIRST LEGO League for elementary and middle school students, FIRST Tech Challenge for middle and high school students, and the FIRST Robotics Competition for high school students.

We participate in the FIRST Tech Challenge. Students learn about team work, community and how to treat each other well - all in a hands-on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) environment.

The mission of FIRST is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders and innovators, by engaging them in exciting  programs that build STEM skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.
