COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
STORIES ABOUT OUR IMPACT
CROZET LIBRARY
January 2020
WAHS Robotics members hosted a free STEM educational event at the local library, where we taught an array of elementary students about the core values of FIRST and engineering.
CROZET SCOOP NIGHT
November 2019
WAHS Robotics set up in our local ice cream parlor to raise money for the club and spread the robotics love to the community. We later donated a portion of our proceeds to a school in central Virginia to kick-start their STEM program.
ELECTION DAY EVENT
November 2019
Our teammates shared baked goods with voters as they participated in their civic duty on election day. Community members were excited to learn about our robot designs and the FIRST competition.
OLD TRAIL FALL FESTIVAL
October 2019
WAHS Robotics Club members provided robotics demonstrations for community members.
"We displayed the outreach robot, which is a simple robot we use to show kids the design process. It was fun to see kids play with the Sphero robots and learn about the basics of engineering."
